Damn! Roys Hobby and Toy shop- does THAT place ever bring back memories. I remember they used to have a huge Slot Car track in there where you could race full sized slot cars, anyone remember that? You could also buy wrist rocket sling shots there. There was this geek who lived on Canoe Brook Pky named Mr.Burger who hated all the kids in our neighborhood, especially if we stepped on his grass while walking down the sidewalk from the bus coming back from Junior high. He was a really eccentric guy who used to get down on hands and knees to pluck every blade of crab grass from his lawn, and he had a cat, that my dog sometimes got loose and chased. One time he heaved a steel rake at my dog and my dog bit him. Another time he threw a pitch fork at her. So I and another kid in our neighborhood collected a half a paper shopping bag full of dog shit off the center island in the street where everyone walked their dogs, and on Mischief night we dowsed that bad boy with gasoline and lit it on fire on his stoop and rang the bell. We each had Instamatic cameras with flash cubes and we hid in the bushes. He came out and started stomping out the flames and we could smell the dogshit and snapped our photos destroying his night vision while laughing our asses off! He chased us, and we led him to the brook, and jumped off the wall to the sandbar on the far side by the other wall which we climbed to escape, while he was blinder than a bat from the flash cubes destroying his night vision, and he broke his arm. After that happened he threw a rock at my dog, so I shot him in the ass with a ball bearing from my wrist rocket that I got at Roy's Hobby and toy shop! That was a USEFUL store! Am enclosing a photo of me with my sidekick today- I'm the taller of the two people in the photo below- stuff like that helped prepare me for my career of fighting the goverment!
